Most of my career has been spent inside businesses where the software never quite fit. Different sectors but the same story of good people, systems bought at different times for different reasons, and a lot of quiet manual work holding it all together.
I trained as a chartered accountant at Deloitte, then spent nine years as finance director of a superyacht management company here in Palma, where I designed and built the systems the fleet's finances ran on. That is where I learned that the gap between what a business needs and what its software does usually gets closed by someone re-keying data by hand.
The six years after that were spent as Product Director at a San Francisco software practice, architecting custom builds across a portfolio of clients whose workflows don't fit off-the-shelf tools. For the last few years that has meant building with AI tools every working day, which is a different education from reading about them.
Nabarro Consulting is those two things applied together: the accountant's understanding of how a business actually runs, and the builder's understanding of what software and AI can honestly do.
I don't resell licences and I'm not tied to any vendors, so the advice can be "don't buy anything yet" when that's the truth.
